All students have certain combinations with basic strikes. The following list is comprised of the combinations for this rank. Details are taught in class.
Required gear: National Karate uniform. In summer, an NK T-shirt tucked into pants with belt is acceptable. At gold with green stripe, speak with Mr. Albertson about ordering sparring equipment, which will be used at solid green belt.
Tape stripes track attendance and skill. About every four classes, instructors review technique and listening. Earning three stripes means you’re close to testing for the next belt.
Tournaments are open at this level. Rings are grouped by age and belt (and often gender). Students receive a ring assignment and report time. Eligible divisions include:
Next rank: Green belt. Sparring begins at Green. Please coordinate with Mr. Albertson for sparring gear while the student is still gold with green stripe.
